Thanks for your review! I can definitely see parallels with X-Men. I would like to learn more about the different types of mutations the descendants have.

I love young adult fantasy! Mix in some romance supernatural abilities, a biokernetic change, and some scientists who are after them? Sounds like an exciting tale! I love that the author writes Adam's and Carly's characters well and how they seem to work well with each other. The Russian ancestry seems like an interesting addition to the storyline since I'm not too familiar with the Russian culture. Too bad about the misspelled words, but I'm glad that the story was still strong enough with its ending twist and its superhero aspect that the couple of misspelled words didn't deter from your enjoyment of the story. I read the sample and I'm sold! Thank you for the lovely review!

I like ancestry books because they give me more history about a different category of people but for erotic stories, I have a difficulty in paying attention to the last chapter.

Oh, this sounds so exciting! The mutation part reminds me of X-men somehow. I wonder how their Russian ancestry play a role in the story. I added this book to my to-read list! Great review.

I love books about powers. This book sounds like it's right up my alley. I'm ok with miss spelled words, as long as i understand what they're saying. I'll probably start reading this in a few days.

Don't really think this is my thing, but the reviewer's enthusiasm is rubbing off a little.

Opaque is making waves; it is rumored to be joining the Marvel adventures! I appreciate that Adam and Carla are mutant beings with exciting powers, but Adam's longing for his mother and abhorrence for his father do not sit well with me. The abduction and killing early in the story also shocked me. These dark aspects of the plot don't seem appropriate for the target YA audience.

A young adult SciFi fantasy about mutated humans with biokenretic abilities....Sounds fascinating. I like the young love brewing between the characters. Definitely enticing to SciFi readers.

It's funny, I was thinking about X-Men too at the beginning of your review when I read about Adam's origin story and him meeting Carly. I'm worried the romance might be a bit too insta-love for me, which is a big pet peeve of mine in YA books, but your positive rating and thoughts make me think I should at least give this one a try.

The first description of Adam meeting Carly actually sounded like Twilight's Edward and Bella scene when they met except that no scent then. I might consider reading this despite the mispelled words. You still gave it 4/4 whih means this is worth it.

This review has me thinking of a Charmed/X-men combo. I'm intrigued by Adam and Carly, and I'm glad to know she saves him as the preview on Amazon is dark. The high review makes me want to read it more since I'm already interested in it.

I thought I would be in love with this book from the description, but the writing style in the sample turned me off. The inclusion of countless asides and appositives made the sparse number of sentences with any length incredibly halting. Those, added to the stunted sentences that omitted traditional verb usage made for an introspective voice more fitting to an aged wise-man than a sixteen-year-old boy.

...In my opinion at least :shifty:
