I remember watching The Last Station sometime ago and it gave a very sad picture of his last days ... rather awful and depressing really.Vogin wrote:Too bad he kind of lost it right before he died and denounced most of his work. Even though his books are usually very thick, who'd complain about long books if they keep their greatness?

Oh yeah, I remember hearing this story on high school and made me wondering if I too will be caught by my own demons once I grow old...Fran wrote:I remember watching The Last Station sometime ago and it gave a very sad picture of his last days ... rather awful and depressing really.Vogin wrote:Too bad he kind of lost it right before he died and denounced most of his work. I have read "War and Peace" twice and will go back again some day, it is one of my favourites. I have never read Anna Karenina, maybe I should read it before going back for another go at War and Peace.Mel Carriere wrote:War and Peace and Anna Karenina are among my all time favorite books. Tolstoy knows what is going on in his character's heads better than anybody. What say you?

I would love to read Anna Karanina someday. Any lead about its story or plot is welcome.
