Wow, this novel truly gives the best of everything. A budding romance in the midst of historical events, international relations and wars, while later on experiencing the emotional turmoil of the illness of a loved one. Sign me up! Thank you for your detailed and thorough review. Happy reading :techie-studyinggray:

I am not put off by conversational language or sentence fragments, but I find the book a little uninteresting for my taste. Great review, though!

I feel for Alzheimer's patients, their families and care givers. This does sound like an interesting book. Thanks and great job on this review!

I like stream-of-consciousness style, it makes me feel closer to the characters. I also liked that the plotline intertwines with the historical events taking place in Iran. Great review!
The strongest impetus a man will ever have, in an individual sense, will come from a woman he admires.

It indeed sounds like When a conscience knocks blends two very different points of view, and I wonder how they work as a whole, cohesive novel. For one, the stream of consciousness style narrative is definitely a plus for me. Thank you for your insightful review!

"Readers who dislike stream-of-consciousness in literature might be put off by the novel's style, which makes heavy use of sentence fragments and conversational language"

- I don't think this book is for me unfortunately.
