I've been inspired to learn more about the historical events in this book. It's easier to understand background content of a story when you understand the historical context in which it has been framed. The book does a good job giving a basic overview early on, but given the depth of history backgrounding the story, I've found additional research to be helpful in understanding the book.
I am an avid reader. I typically read 1-2 books per week. I enjoy a wide array of genres including Sci Fi, Action/Thriller, and Historical Fiction.

As a geologist and christian, I also particularly enjoy books on science and faith.

I was interested in learning more, but I'm already a history nerd, which is partly why I chose this book to read and review. I read more about the Entebbe Rescue Mission and I also did more research into the author's life. It turns out that he went back to Africa and was deeply involved in politics/law after the events in the story. I do agree with other posters, however, that the author's footnotes provided quite a lot of historical details by themselves.

Not really, I like historical stories but I didn't feel the need to explore more through the book. I may enjoy historical stories but I don't enjoy political ones.

The book sparked my interest in learning more about the historical and cultural context of Lagos, Nigeria, and the intricacies of international trade and abduction cases. The vivid depiction of Richard's perilous journey and the complexities he navigates heightened my curiosity about the real-world scenarios that inspired the fictional narrative.

If it spurred a bit of curiosity in me to learn what the book has to offer, then yes, it made me curious to keep reading. But it was not enough to make me look for extra material. I was content with the notes in the book, and that was it for me.

Yes, Books like "Quest: Finding Freddie" that weave historical events into their narrative often spark curiosity about the real-world contexts they portray. The mention of Nigeria in 1976, amidst political upheaval and anti-Jewish sentiments, would likely prompt me to explore more about General Murtala Muhammed's assassination and the political climate of that era.

Yes… absolutely
Because of this book, I had to go back and make research on what life was like during the military coup in Nigeria I wanted to know more because Richard mentioned events and places that I hadn’t heard of before. It was quite interesting how things happen back then, so yes, this book made me want to go back and research to know more about a lot that Richard mentioned.
