I didn’t know much about Iran, so I was surprised by some of them. And I loved to learn about it. It made me curious to go online and look up more details about what I learned.

I really enjoyed the descriptions of Persia that were depicted in the book. Some of the traditions I was somewhat aware of, but others were new to me. The traditional family roles depicted were in line with what I had learned, but I had not heard the story of the birth of Islam. I was a bit surprised at the lack of involvement in the early childhood of the author, but am very glad he was able to overcome this.

Yes. I don't usually hear much about Iran except for what is mostly portrayed through the media. I didn't know it has such a rich story and was formerly known as Persia. I'm also no history buff. So it was a delightful surprise to learn about the country through this book.

I was surprised by the hardships Cyrus and his family experienced, especially when they moved to Tehran. They had so little, yet they had such drive to improve their lives. It was admirable to read about their attitude to life and the lengths they would go to to improve their lot.

I do not know much about Iran, because of the conflict around the area, I think we have left it as a forgotten land, one we do not talk about. Reading about it, from someone who loves it, lived there and know how life really is was interesting and educational. I loved the history about Persia.

I was a little surprised. I wasn't familiar with the history of Persia and the stories that were included really got me interested in learning more about ancient Persia.

While I was not really surprised I loved it. I gave the book a wider, more engaging plot. I enjoyed reading about Iran, since I know very little about their lifestyle
