What do you like/dislike about society?

I am not sure that even half of the people out there even understand what eye contact is anymore! It is a sad state to say the least.

I actually have issues with this one. People are so unused to normal friendly behavior... that I have had stalkers simply because I acknowledged them. So now I've been trained to scurry between home and where ever I need to go, because I am scared of someone following me home. And I don't throw the word stalker around lightly... like some people do... "like omg this guy texted me like 4 times what a stalker!" They have no idea how much they are hurting those who have had legitimate experiences.. and how much they ruin people as they struggle to have reports/cases taken seriously.

The gap of communication is only getting wider and wider... and yet the things we can easily find out about people and their amount of privacy is getting smaller and smaller.

I honestly don't see most things considered progress... as even close to it. People are talking about problems more... but it is mainly just talk... and a lot of times that talk even reinforces the problems that are being talked about. People are more connected and misinformation is spread like wildfire and the truth is becoming harder to spot. Minds are made on rumors and people act before bothering to find out more since they already have people in agreement with them.

Don't get me wrong... there are still good laid back people out there... but society as a while is spiraling out of control with fingers pointed in every direction. Some areas aren't doing to bad.... but there is are huge amounts of inconsistencies across the board.

If I start saying what I dislike about society I think I will probably pack my bags and hitchhike some spaceship to get out of here.
No, but seriously, most people would see me as self-righteous and I had this conversation so many times that I'm getting old and tired of it.
But shortly:
- The animal exploitation and the problems it causes to our health and the environment.
- How products are processed nowadays.
- How the economic system is overdue and how we need to start from scratch without slavery, exploitation and reinforcement of Civil and Human Rights
- How countries and nations are managed and how greed is destroying our world and leading to our extinction as species.

But everyday I find examples of kindness, selflessness and, I try, as the saying goes "be the change I wanna see".
But it's hard sometimes. Seeing everyone going with the flow and one fighting against the current isn't always an easy job.

Like: availability of income from home type jobs, ease of travel, instant information, the ability to design my life based on the things I consider important to me, NOT on what people think I should do.

Dislike:
1) child focus - in that people just cannot believe that a woman my age not only does not have kids but has no plans for kids and has chosen permanent contraception. I'm glad you're happy as a mother but I know myself well enough to know I wouldn't be. That doesn't mean I hate kids. I'll borrow yours as an excuse to play on the playground equipment and then be happy to give her back, okay?
2) intolerance & negative judgement of people just because they're leading a different lifestyle than you. really the same thing as number one, just for different issues. I get that you might not want to be friends with people who are too different from you. Differences make some people uncomfortable and it might be harder to find common ground. But different from you doesn't automatically mean wrong or bad. Because even if my life is right for me and very different from yours, that doesn't make yours wrong, only different.

P.C. /Political Correctness that makes for dull and lifeless ppl devoid of even a shred of personality, only trumped by the " flip " side who in their quest for " originality ", or just to be different, are constantly doing and saying LAME THINGS by anyone's standards..
