What did you think of the movie "Get out"?

I actually liked the movie. I like that the main protagonist escaped or should I say got out.

I loved it. I actually watched it 3 times. It was clever in the way it delivered its messages.

It was a great satirical thriller, not your typical horror movie. Almost Hitchcockian in the way it handled suspense and subtle clues.

the movie itself was decent, though the whole white people are demons thing was a little too smug. it played out as a comedy because of that. you felt like you were in on a joke which is not exactly the usual feel of a horror/thriller.

I hate to say it, but I was entirely underwhelmed.

Still don't grasp what all the fuss was over it -- both negative and positive.

Having walked in the shoes of the protagonist (minus the being imprisoned in a basement, admittedly), I didn't find the material all that fresh and definitely not funny.

That people at large and even award show honchos perceived it as a comedy really speaks to the chasm that has us all not getting along too well.

"‘Get Out’ is a documentary," Jordan Peele (the writer/director) tweeted --seriously or not-- at the time.

And in an interview he later followed up with, “What the movie is about is not funny.”

The joke is that his intent was to make a horror movie.

Think I'll watch it again in about 5 years, in absence of spin, and see how it ages...

Get out is pretty amazing horror movie where a black guy falls in love with a white woman whose family abduct black guys for their bodies because they're stronger. It's an amaizing movie but depicts a lot of racism.

I adore that movie. For one thing I think it was very brave to bring up the issue of racial discrimination in the current social climate. That aside, it was an original plot which was artfully translated onto the screen.

I felt that Jordan Peele had a great idea, a great plot, and great actors/actresses. However, the ending felt too edited. To me, it didn't carry out naturally in the end, and he had difficulty with finishing it.

I liked the movie. Even though it is a horror movie, it had a blend of statute, and also some social commentary. It also explore some of the themes that are present in our society such as racism in a thought provoking way.
