Is God Omniscient?

In my opinion and belief, God is the power behind all life forms and above all reproach. Things going out of god's control does not seem possible for me.

Your question appears illogical. God is omniscient means that He knows the end from the beginning. He's not surprised at anything or any occurrence.
Maybe the author portrayed a different picture of the omniscient nature of God, but what exactly do you mean by saying that God did not know the extent of the curse He bestowed?

Well, we have to bear in mind that the book on itself is a human interpretation of an event. Thus, it is seen through human glasses. What I'm trying to say here is that God's portrayal doesn't necessarily have to be 100% accurate to the reality of how God truly is, because at the end of it all, is just the author's point of view, not a reliable source of what indeed went through God's mind.

It is definitely interesting how the author chose to portray God in such way, it further proves the point that everyone perceives God in different ways. I always considered God to be omniscient and all-knowing, but this book made me think.

I agree with you, however, I think the author decided to use this approach was because the book is a work of fiction. I think that allows for some self-imagination. Moreover, I feel like the author was trying to portray the subject of how even God is surprised by some extravagant acts committed by humans. Perhaps the author was trying to hint to that.

This is just an opinion though it could be a number of other things.

i agree with you that God is omniscient. He has three Omnis omnipotence which is all powerful, omniscience which is all knowing and omnipresence which is all present.

The author has humanise God in that He could make mistakes and is unaware of the consequences He has caused. But the bible states otherwise an example is the story of Adam and Eve.

When he created them he told them of all the fruits they could eat in the garden except for the forbidden tree. This is where the term Omniscient comes in God knew what would happen if they ate from the tree.

I believe that God is omniscient. I think the author chose to portray Him differently to make the book interesting.

Even though the author potray God as surprised at Adam. I believe that God is Nonetheless omniscience and nothing take him by surprise. Man is a free moral agent and man's choice bring with it consequences we witness today.

I totally agree! The way the Godhead had to discuss certain things also seemed so out-of-place. But ok, this is a work of fiction after all ... so I guess we have to keep an open mind about this then.

Yes, I believe God is omniscient. I also understand that the author was trying to be creative also, it could be his point of view or just trying ponder on a point in a fictional perspective.

Of course God is omniscient! He created man and gave him free-will. This means that man is responsible for his actions and the consequences that come with it.

God is omniscient,but the author didn't really put him that way in the book. He was actually in a way trying to make God look like a human.

God knows all. Be it in the past, present, or future, he sees and knows everything. He only interferes at his own time. So the answer yes, God is omniscient.
