Definitely not my cup of tea, because I certainly had no desire to see how little changed over time and, just like people were "sent to the military to avoid jail", the same tactic is employed by Russians now, according to the news. I hate war and will have to skip the book.

'Official Review: The Forgotten Soldier' by Angelique Barbara provides a thorough glimpse into the plot of historical fiction. It sketches out the protagonist's character. This is a true-life story of a man named Curtis Dagley who served in the army to avoid jail time for accidentally killing a woman. He was sent to the military to avoid jail time. While on the mission, he is imprisoned for several months for a crime. The author details Curtis's time in jail. It was great to learn that the book is recommendable to lovers of military stories!

The review leads me to believe this will be a good book to read even though the reviewer said it does not delve into the relationship with Grace. I also read the sample but it did not go very far into the story it still had me looking forward to seeing what happens further in the story.

I really want to know why and what led to the death of the woman Curtis killed in The Forgotten Soldier, by Dr. Angelique Barabara. Congratulations on BOTD.

Curtis's life is turbulent. He joins the army to evade jail time, then ends up in jail anyway. He survives the trauma with the help of Dr. Wozniak. "The Forgotten Soldier" by Dr. Angelique Barabara seems entertaining but poignant. I appreciate your informative review.

The Forgotten Soldier is a true story about Curtis Dagley, a man who served in the army to avoid jail time for accidentally killing a woman. Despite his parents' expectations, Curtis chose Grace over Susie, feeling she was too polished for him. At 18, he was sent to the military to avoid jail time and enlisted in a twelve-week boot camp. Despite the challenges, Curtis showed strength and discipline, leading to a critical mission where he was imprisoned for several months for a crime.

This is a beautiful book. I see fate befalling Curtis. First, he escaped jail time for accidentally killing a woman by joining the military. Next, he's serving jail time for crimes. I see karma working against him? In all, "The Forgotten Soldier" by Dr. Angelique Barabara is obviously a great read. Thanks for the review.

I like how prison is treated as a looming threat to Curtis in this book. The romance is one of the weaker points, so it remains to be seen how it gets settled.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. Curtis goes on a date with a girl his father pushed him into. After the date, he met his friends on the shore, and they talked about the war and the probability that they, with other boys, would be enlisting. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

This book made me reflect on the choices we make in difficult moments. Curtis Dagley is an incredibly courageous character because he not only demonstrates physical bravery but also moral strength by taking the blame to protect his comrades. The author also does an exceptional job of portraying the inhumane conditions of prison. :eusa-think:

I completely agree with your thoughts on The Forgotten Soldier. The way the author described Curtis's time in jail was truly powerful, making me feel his pain and struggles. I also liked Dr. Stefan Wozniak’s role in keeping Curtis strong.I do wish there was more detail about Curtis and Grace’s love story, as it felt a bit underdeveloped. However, like you said, this didn’t take away from the overall story. The book was well-written, easy to follow, and had a unique plot that kept me engaged.
