Re: What made you sad or mad today?
The truth is I am not sad or mad even though a lot of stuff has happened that could have made me sad or mad on a different day.
Today for some reason I chose to laugh instead and that has made a huge difference all the way around.
On the other hand, the fat spaniel is sad and mad because this morning she ate all her food and was standing guard over the other dog's food, too full to eat it but not going to let him have it.
I picked her up and he grabbed a mouthful and ran and she snapped at him.
So tonight I took her out and played fetch with her while he had a bowl of kibble all to himself for once.
She is absolutely ignoring me now.
She won't come when I call her and just looks at me from across the room as if to say, "traitor" or worse; what would a girl dog call a person she was mad at? A girl?

She walked out on the porch and won't come in.

Well at least she didn't bang the door on the way out!

A world is born again that never dies.

She is happy this morning because I took them for a walk and told the little one he has to learn how to heel and sit and stay like the good dog. She knew I meant her, so I think all is forgiven.
But I will be sad if I can't get her to stop eating because she is so fat she is having trouble breathing.
We measure her kibble and make sure she exercises and she steals.
Three days ago I went to open the door for my daughter who was carrying something and when I turned around the peanut butter sandwich I was getting ready to pack was gone.
This dog stands less than two feet tall and can jump up and grab food off the kitchen counter and must have swallowed an entire sandwich in one gulp.

Two days ago we had ice cream and she was begging to go out the front door. My daughter got up to go to the door, leaving her bowl on an end table. The dog ran over and got on the couch and up to the bowl and would not go outside.
So I grabbed the bowl and we laughed and my daughter sat back down. The dog went to the door and asked to go out, my daughter got up, and the dog raced over to the table again! She had so obviously thought this through and hatched a plan to get ice cream!
