I'm gonna lean towards the Bronte sisters on this one. Jane Austen's books were so witty, with a level of intellectual scorn I only begun to appreciate in my mid-teenage years. Only, her writing came off as staunch, which I don't think quite fell in with the romantic fiction genre. The Bronte sisters were more passionate and there was this undeniable thrill when reading any of the sisters' books.

The Brontë sisters. I really like some of Jane Austen's books, but they can be repetitive and the English countryside gets a bit boring after a while. The way that the Brontë sisters write emotions never fails to move me.

I prefer Jane Austen. The Bronte sisters are very much of their time. But Jane Austen was able to view her own time from an outsider's perspective.
