I grew up with a lot of these singers' music, so this book appealed to me, except that I'm not a fan of poetry. Sadly the sample on Amazon only covered the contents pages and the dedication so I couldn't even sample the first artist.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. In the sample, it just had about the book but no samples of any poem. I don't care for poetry, mainly due to not understanding it, but I did recognize many of the musicians in the book. After reading your review, I have decided to take a chance on it and add it to my list of books to read.

Just like you've pointed out, "Heart and Harmony" is indeed a productive of an excellent research and artistic prowress. There was no better way to have written a story-telling poem of the great music talents that walked through the halls of stardom. Not only did I enjoy reading about my favourites, I got to discover several artistes whose stories were interesting and striking. This book is one of a kind.
