The story of a sword swallower and a chico kid interesting to read. Alcoholism is a common problem of both. Hope they will find some good solution to end up their bad habit.

One would say, a drunk with great talent meets with another drunk and together they face life.
Thanks for the great review. I think I will create time to go through this one.

I read this book and totally disagree with many of your comments. I found the story slow moving and the characters and situations to be utterly unrealistic. Further, the writing lacked imagination.

Living dangerously and on the edge seems to be the theme of the book. It is commendable that the reviewer wrote saying that the characters are addicted to drugs and has a very destructive life style , but they are still likeable. I read a few pages , but I don't know if it is really for me.

This review really makes me want to read it!!!!
I feel the mistakes the reviewer saw were maybe pointing errors. I see them some times in other books I have read.

Typically I don't like books that don't have a lot of action as I enjoy horror novels and thrillers, but this one sounds interesting and I may have to check it out!

Thank you for giving such a detailed picture of the story. I love character-oriented books about protagonists from interesting backgrounds, and this definitely sounds like it fits the bill :) It seems like it deals with some pretty heavy themes too, with the topic of alcohol and drug addiction.

Thanks for the short review of the book. The story sounds interesting but it is not the type of book that I would like to read so I am going to pass on this one.

You did a very good job putting into words the interactions that were going on between Duke and Bill. All of the different issues that you mentioned definitely seemed to be the majority of the plot of the story. If I had never heard of this book and I read your review I would make the choice to read it. Thank you for your thorough, accurate review.

Great review and I can't wait to see how Gary gets through his alcoholism, the fact that the author can make a character such as him likable is awesome and hard to do.

Yeah, there were some minor punctuation errors but forgivable. I liked that there's good character development. The title is pretty self explanatory but I wondered what connected the two together. Good thing the review gave a hint.

Yeah, I absolutely agree, the author uses a lot of humor while dealing with some serious issues, which is great because life needs a little balance from time to time. Characters definitely develop slowly which makes them seem more real and relatable. Great review, thanks for your insight!

I'm not sure if I would really enjoy this book. I don't mind books with drugs, but alcohol addiction hits a little to close to home for me. Without much action, the book may move too slow for me also. But there's definitely people out there that would love this. Great review.
