Kobo -

Post by Arina Siaban »

Hi, everyone. I created this topic to look for some insight on Kobo devices vs other devices.

I currently own a Kobo Aura and am considering a change.

When I bought this device, my choice came from the fact that Kobo devices are easier to find in store here, as opposed to Kindle devices which I would have to order from overseas (considering our postal services, I'm reluctant to do so).

I'm pretty satisfied with it, since I don't tend to use online features and I like my e-readers simple and easy to carry on a small backpack. However, sometimes the highlight and notes features on Aura are not practical, the screen letters are stiff and take a long while to respond. Plus, Kobo seems pretty limited in other device connectivity when compared to other e-readers.

I was checking out the new Kobo Libra and they seem a bit broader in that aspect.

Anyone out there own a Kobo Libra and could give me some insight on its workings and differences from Aura? Or should I just kiss my first love goodbye and surrender to Kindle's tempting seduction?

I haven't used the Kobo device myself but I have hands on trial experience in one of the shops locally. The reader is as much similar to Kindle or any other e readers. And the mobile app of Kobo and that works great.
