Icon RANSOM by Julie Garwood

Post by Swanangel15 »

Now I'm back to woman having the brain and men being their regular clueless selves. I love Ransom, I'm ashamed to say that it took me some time before I realized that it was a continuation from another one of Julie Garwood's books, when you read the book, can you guess which one it is?

Lady Gillian, having seen her family destroyed by a power hungry beast called Baron Alford, who sole purpose was to retrieve a jeweled box for his King John. Upon seeing that the box was lost to him and that Gillian was not telling him anything, he banished her to her uncles house until he has need of her again.

With her father murdered and her sister missing, Gillian is left on her own with only a maid to accompany her to her uncles house. One thing Gillian does know is that she will never forgive the man who destroyed her family.

Now over a decade later, Baron Alford believes he has found Gillian's sister who he thinks knows the whereabouts of the jeweled box. He needs Gillian's help in other to get to her sister and threatens to kill her uncle if she does not to as he commands.

Having no other choice, Gillian travels to the Highlands where it is believed where her sister now lives where she meets Brodick Buchanan. Due to a very grave matter, Brodick and Gillian were pulled into each other lives and even though they are together through inconvenience, something in the both of them does not want to let the other go, even when the grave matter was resolved.

Brodick being a brave and stubborn man, cannot believe that this little slip of a woman can make him feel the way he feels. Thinking that love is for the weak, he takes Gillian as her own, in a very underhanded way, but vows not to give anything of himself in return.

Can these two stubborn people find some common ground or would their pride break them apart forever.

Ugh, it's so hard to write a review for this book because I want to write about EVERYTHING, I want you to know people, that's how good this book is. But if I say too much, I will spoil all your fun, so save me the trouble and go buy the book and read it. Believe me, it's worth it.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I have read the series and really wish she would write more Highland books.

This one as well as the ones in her series are my go to books, if I want to read something good but can't find anything new. I reread these and relax.
