I will only list Pros for the old fashioned book as I do not like e-books.
I guess it is all nostalgia. I love the smell of the book, I like the feel of the book in my hands, the turning of the pages, I also like my eyes LOL, does anyone even know how very had all these screen that are surrounding us on every look are? It seriously disfigures the eye, they are bulging out compared to the eyes of the people before all these screens. Read more about that at Dr. Mercola's site. Before the kids, and ever since I remember I was an avid reader. Just for pleasure, for learning... I made it a goal to read all the books in our school library in first four years of grade school, and I did, the very first kid, who read all the books. Now, I read The Bible, self improving books, and books of other topics pertaining to my life. But, every time I pick up a real book, it takes me back to my childhood and that library. Sadly, ebook falls short on that, plus I don't know, how can you read an e-book outside, how annoying
P.S. English is not my first language, so be nice :D

It's absolutely fine, mommyto3angels. I'll use understandable English to you. Yeah, electronic books are growing quite populous over the years and having an old-fashioned book in your hands requires time buying anywhere or online for that matter, but with electronically bought books, you can quickly do anything and bookmark something. The lighting on the screen truly damages your eyesighting over time, yes. Unfortunately, electronic books are the ones that you're capable of pirating into your computer as well. If you're lucky in real life, shoplifting a book might be possible. Other than that, everything you've said sounds pretty good. :-)

I am an avid Kindle user. I bought my first in 2010, and have upgraded twice giving my old device to various family/friends since then. While I missed the smell of a real book for awhile, I found I could carry tons of books with me all the time, without out the hassle of dragging the heavy old things around. I even bought a nice leather cover for mine which made it feel more like a book. The Kindle also makes me feel like I am making less of a environmental footprint while using it. Amazon did a great job with the Paperwhite model. I can read it anywhere. Outside, inside or a dark room without the need for a lamp or book light. The device is amazingly light and it goes where I go always. If you aren't sure if you would like it you can usually pick up a used Kindle or nook on eBay pretty cheaply. That way if you don't care for it you aren't out that much money. Also I don't recommend spending the extra money for the free 3G in addition to the WiFi. WiFi is good enough if you have access to internet at home.
