Paul Theroux advice needed.

Post by jgreen »

I've read "Mr. Bones" short stories and "Murder in Mount Holly" and am now reading the "Collected" short stories. I enjoyed the first two books but find "Collected" more pedestrian. I especially liked "Murder In Mount Holly" because of the outrageousness of the characters which I'm finding none of in "Collected". In "Mount Holly" there seemed to be a Vonnegut influence. Such antisocial writing which is what I like, "Confederacy of Dunces" being my favorite book. Can anyone recommend any other novels by Theroux that contain the satirical content of "Murder In Mount Holly" instead of the more mainstream characters I'm finding in the "Collected" short stories?
