Crazy About Love by Cassie Mae
Alec and Teresa are friends who were thrown together when their best friends Landon and Liz became a couple. Alec has always been there anytime Theresa has needed him and she is supportive of him as well. They struggle with whether they can remain friends or if they want to take their relationship to another level. If they decide to date and it doesn’t work, can they ever be friends again? Will they still be friends if Liz and Landon move across the country or are they just friends of friends?
I liked the way the author told the story first from Alec’s point of view in part 1 and then Theresa’s in part 2. The characters of Alec and Theresa are very well developed and you feel their pain and frustrations at times as they struggle with their lives and trying to determine what the future holds. I really wanted Theresa to tell Eli to take a hike as I thought he was playing games with her heart. Liz is great! I don’t want to put any spoilers in here but she is the friend you want when life gets crazy. Rain is another interesting character. Her life intersects with Alec and they are complete opposites yet are both searching for the same thing in life. The writing style changes slightly when Theresa is telling the story much like two people having a conversation and each using their own style of speaking. The story and true relationships come before more private experiences of the characters.
I did at times get confused as to whether I was reading in the present or the past though each chapter was clearly defined. I occasionally looked back to the chapter title to see the timeframe.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read romance novels. It is a 4 out of 4 stars book. It was a fairly quick read mainly because I didn’t want to put it down, I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I really like the two different viewpoints as we know there are always at least two sides to every story.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
