The Disturbia Ritual by Lilith K Duat and Maria DeLynn is suited for a mature reader as it has frequent detailed sex scenes throughout the book.

After his wife Ava dies, Corvus is lonely and stuck in a world he can no longer bear to live in. Suicidal but unable to end it himself, as it would mean never seeing Ava again, Corvus is out of options. When Midnight, a supernatural woman of a macabre mix of porcelain ballerina body, and sugar calavera skull (a Mexican day of the dead skull candy), sneaks in to visit him one night in bed, she makes the choice for him. She has the power to provide him with the one thing he wants. The chance to see his dead wife again. There is however a price to pay.

Midnight brings Corvus to Disturbia, neither a heaven nor hell, but a cross between purgatory and limbo where monsters abound, and she strikes him a bargain. She will take him to see his wife again if he stays in her Gothic style brothel and provides whatever service the monster women clients’ desire. As time begins to lose meaning and strange and supernatural become the norm, Corvus’s main goal stays clear. However the rules of the bargain keep changing and Corvus begins to think there is a lot more that Midnight is hiding from him.

This book, although full of raunchy sex scenes right for the get go, which continue on throughout the book with the varying demands of the female clientele, has a very simple love theme of doing absolutely anything in the world to be with a lost loved one again.

The Disturbia Ritual is a well written, easy book to read, with a more female dominating point of view than what is found in a lot of other erotic fiction. However it was lacking in much of the detail as to the backstory concerning Corvus’s wife, which would have set the scene and Corvus’s drive a bit more, how she died is only mentioned once briefly, in passing, some way in. Also the end wrapped up surprisingly quickly, I thought there was room for a little bit more intrigue.

I did enjoy reading this book, especially the little twist at the end which I had not expected, I therefore rate The Disturbia Ritual by Lilith K Duat and Maria DeLynn a 3 out of 4 stars. This would be a good book for someone wanting to have a quick read, its only 67 pages, who enjoys the more supernatural gothic type fiction.
