The Girl in Seat 24B by Jennifer Peel

Post by Pinkrose353 »

This was my first book by this author. I was drawn right into the drama of the story when the husband of Carly, the main character of this novel, told her in the first chapter, that he wasn't in love with her anymore, and had already rented an apartment that he was going to move into shortly. What a shock of what she thought was a happy marriage for ten years!

Now Carly was faced with the task of dealing with her personal turmoil, trying to comfort her two young children, and trying to cope with life without her parents who had died in a terror attack several years ago, her only sister who hated her, and her in-laws who were not very fond of her for capturing the affection of their only child.

The characters are well developed, the emotional strain of all involved is well described, the plot is riveting, and Carly's strength of character shines throughout the book in the midst of her brokenness.

A book well worth reading!
