Nora Roberts, Irish Trilogy

I love the magic in these three books.
Why do I enjoy Nora Roberts' Irish romances? I like the way she makes her writing sound Irish while spelling the words normally. Usually, in books, when someone has an accent (and everyone on the planet has an accent), the spelling is murdered to help us get an idea how the words sound. But in real life none of us murder our spelling, we just speak the way we speak. I don't know how Nora Roberts does it, but Irish brogue rolls out of her books and I can smell rich Irish earth and hear Irish songs in my head. She didn't start me off reading romances, but she did a lot to pander to my addiction! She keeps making me want to pack my bags and go on a trip to Ireland. Perhaps I would experience some of the magic! Or, I can simply put Irish music on while I read her Irish novels.

I agree. Very first book of hers I read was Irish Thoroughbred from her Irish Hearts series. So so good. The Irish Trilogy only felt more enhanced since there was so much more to the story. I absolutely loved it. May I recommend celtic music while listening? I found it just put me there so much more.

Hmm, playing Irish music while listening to a Nora Roberts novel set in Ireland? I have to try that sometime-perhaps a little Enya? My favorite among her novels based in Ireland is the Cousins O'Dwyer triology-I always like the ones that have a magical bent.
