A Compromising Position by Diane Merrill Wigginton is an interesting book filled with suspense but quite predictable. The author introduced Catherine Lawrence, who just got to become the new campaign manager for Russell in the upcoming campaign after Chase was sacked. She was finally happy because her dreams were coming true after she lost her grandmother Alice and her father nine weeks later. Preparing for her first day as a campaign manager at home, she met Jake Ryan, a handsome man who just moved in as her new neighbor. Catherine would always admire him when surfing on the beach. They both had some unique connections, but she was tied to a spot to choose between her career and her love life when Jake moved back home to settle some problems. Catherine, giving her best at work, avoiding distractions, was faced with lots of difficulties from the former campaign manager Chase Stoneman and Patricia. One thing led to another, and she was shot. What later happened to her? Did she make the right choice? Read this book to quench your thirst for answers.

I loved how the title of this book rhymed with the plot. There was little suspense in this book, which was good. I loved how Catherine and Jake as characters were developed in the book. These characters made the book look realistic and like a movie. I must commend the author for this. This book also made me see how the political aspect is being operated and the challenges they face putting their reputation on the line. I love the simplicity of the book; the font style and the grammar are okay.

I felt that this book was rushed at some point. I expected some more scenes from Patricia and Chase Stoneman, but eventually it ended suddenly. Also, the amount of chapters in the book is unnecessary. Some chapters were too short, cutting me from the flow of reading. I think merging some chapters together will not cut the flow of readers in this book. Also, I didn't like how some characters were portrayed in this book, especially Patricia. At times the suspense in this book was so long that I decided to forget about that part of the book until it was later brought up. I had to wait for two more chapters before I could finally get the answer I wanted. This book was professionally edited. I found little errors in this book.

I rate this book A Compromising Position by Diane Merrill Wigginton 3 out of 5 stars. My above flaws are enough to remove stars from this book. I recommend this book to lovers of romance and people above the age of 18. This was a fun read.
