The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Book Review: In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes
In It Together:

The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All is a thought-provoking study of human relationships and resilience by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes. Hughes weaves together personal anecdotes, philosophical insights and social commentary to create a compelling narrative that speaks to the shared challenges and triumphs we all face in life’s journey.

It is a book that delves into the idea that despite our differences, there is a common thread of struggle and perseverance that binds us all together. Hughes eloquently explores how suffering can separate us or bring us closer together, depending on how we choose to respond. Her writing is thoughtful and thought-provoking, encouraging readers to embrace their struggles as opportunities for growth and unity.

Hughes' approach is intelligent and accessible, simplifying complex ideas about society, psychology, and human nature. The book is full of insightful reflections on the human condition emphasizing the importance of empathy, understanding and team effort in overcoming life’s challenges as his use of metaphor and storytelling enriches the text, and offers readers not only books, but guidance to navigate life’s trials. One of the book’s strengths is its universality.

The themes Hughes explores apply to a wide range of audiences, regardless of background or faith. Whether discussing personal hardships or social issues, Hughes always emphasizes the importance of solidarity and mutual support. His message is one of hope that we can find strength in each other even in the darkest of times.

However, some readers may find the book’s philosophical tone heavy at times. At times, the story feels more like a lecture than a conversation, which can alienate those looking for a lighter read. Additionally, although the book covers a wide range of topics, some areas could benefit from in-depth analysis.
Overall, In It Together is a powerful and uplifting book that challenges readers to rethink their thinking about conflict and relationships. Hughes offers a poignant reminder that while life’s challenges may be inevitable, facing them can change our lives for the better.
