I have a background in English literature. Though I don't agree, people from science or other backgrounds expect English major students to have a rich vocab.

So, I think it's important for me.

I feel being a book reviewer on onlinebookclub could be one way. It enriches reading, broadens our reading scope with new books we've never read before, and all these actions open opportunities for us to better understand language.

I think reading is a great way to expand your vocabulary. I can't say its one of the reasons why I read but it's definitely a great benefit of reading.

In terms of methods you could always try the Word of the day gambit, to learn and use a new word each day. Having a dictionary with you when you read is also a great way.

For me, it is so important in order to communicate my complicated thoughts and feelings to other people. It is also important for me to impress others with my deep vocabulary.

Now that I'm learning French, reading is essential for this language. For English, it is no longer critical.

Ohh it's extremely important to me. I am a verbal person and ever expanding vocabulary aids me to express my thoughts more accurately.

I wouldn’t say that it’s very important to me, but I do enjoy learning a lot of new vocabulary and jargon specific to very certain hobbies, activities, or industries and then surprising people with that knowledge or being able to participate in conversations I wouldn’t otherwise.
