When someone interrupts me in the break room while I'm reading it takes me a moment to put on a calm facade to answer them. It irritates me SO MUCH. Possibly much more than it should. It is much worse when it is a completely inane question (that is nearly every question).

I've been thinking I might do an experiment wearing headphones while I read, as an added measure of deterrence.

I hate that! You can tell when someone is deep in a good book and doesn't want to be messed with, so why go mess with them??? There's some custom book covers I've seen that have stuff like that written on it!

My four year old daughter loves to try and distract me from reading..she gets her own books out and makes up stories to go with the pictures and is very loud about it. I finally gave up and now have to wait until she is in bed to read...

It depends on their reasons for interrupting.

Yes I do think it is rude to interrupt a person reading because I find that whenever I'm disturbed from my reading it is not only rude but aggravating.

yes. because when someone is reading they will be in another world, it is very bad to disturb their reading and imagination. and i dont like when others disturb me while reading too.

I don't think it's such a big deal especially if there is something important to say.

I hate it when interrupted. In less some ones dying, I cant see any reason for me to be interrupted while reading.

I have to say that yes it is very rude to interrupt someone while reading. I hate when I'm at a really good part, someone says something to me and then I have to go back and reread everything. Grinds my gears.

I think it is very rude when someone snaps me out of another world into reality.I feel grumpy and mad and I am a type of reader that has to read a book from cover to cover without stopping or getting interrupted.Hard to achieve when you have 4 noisy younger siblings in the house and share a room with your sis.So my solution is that I read in the nights in my bed when there is peace and silence. No one interrupts me then. :)

My husband always does this, mostly because when I am into a book (really into it) I forget everything around me even to eat. And he forces me to eat when there s some nice action going on in the book. I can't blame him, as he is just looking out for me, and when he does forces me I remember just how hungry I am. So its okay. But at that moment I feel super annoyed!
