This is always a big discussion among me and my friends. Honestly I see the convenience of audiobooks, e-books, and physical books. I love love love physical books, but since I'm a college student both e-books and audiobooks have become more practical. I can walk around campus or drive and listen to the audio book, and I can fit wayyy more ebooks on my Nook than I can physical books in my dorm. This really poses a problem for me when I go to buy books though! Usually if they're a book I love or a book on sale I'll by it physically. Its really always a toss-up for me though!

I detest audio books ever since I tried to read the audio book for 50 shades of grey. I'm sure we all imagined how sexy Christian's voice would sound... but the voice over WOMAN who did his voice ruined it... especially the cringe sex scenes haha.

I have a problem. I can't understand the story if someone else reads it. I need to be saying the words in my head to become fully engaged.

I can't listen to audiobooks. My listening skills are terrible and I get distracted too easily when listening. As in, I block things out of my ears too easily. Also, I might be losing my hearing already. It's hereditary.

Real thing! I have never listened to an audiobook but i dont think i would like it. I dont like listening to people reading aloud. It distracts me from what is actually going on in the book.

I love both. Audiobooks are great when I want to knit or sew regular books are for when I just want to enjoy reading. Jim Dale is a great narrator, as is the entire cast of the His Dark Materials series, and the narrator of the Gemma Doyle trilogy. A story seems to come together more cohesively when it's performed by voice actors.

I really enjoy both. When it comes to audiobooks, I especially enjoy it when the one or ones doing the narration/performance not only do a good job with it, but also were chosen well for the material. Still, reading the written word will always be a joy for me as well.

I use audiobooks on my commute to work. It really keeps the blood pressure down!

I like the real book. If someone else is reading I usually start thinking about tons of different things.

I like 'the real thing'. I can't focus on an audiobook as sometimes the narrator is just too distracting.

I recently started using audible because I barely have time to read and when I do have time I'm just to tired. It's been great!I get to "read" books in less time and re listen to whatever I bookmark. All I've read so far are self help books, I don't think I'd like fiction audio books.

I once had a librarian suggest audiobooks to me. I looked at her as if she was insane. I don't see myself using a kindle or using audiobooks. I have to have the feel of books in my hand. I'm as old school as they get.
