Used. Always used. There is always a used copy. And it is more exciting to be the next in line to read that copy. To be a part of it's history. But also, I'm a firm believer in keeping things in the product life cycle as long as possible. Plus, for all of 2014 I'm doing a second hand living project for my editor. Can only buy second hand.

It doesnt matter if they are used as long as its still in good condition and not falling apart, plus used books are usually cheaper. haha

I don't mind used books but if I know I will have it for a while I like to buy them new.

I would say about 95% of my purchases last year were used. Maybe even more than that. I've been hitting up library book sales, and I'm lucky enough to live next to a used book store (though the last few months have been a bit disappointing on that front), and I gravitate towards the used section of Amazon listings. If I'm desperate to have a book right away, then I'll buy it new, otherwise I'll wait. It almost physically hurts to buy a hardcover brand new in Barnes & Noble.

*deep breath* The cinnamon-earthy scent of used books and the crisp ocean breeze of new books! How can you choose? :3

Lately, I've been buying a lot of used books because it's cheaper. I prefer ones that are in good condition, though.

I usually buy new, particularly paperback, because I hate it when the spine is cracked at all.

I prefer new, but can afford used. Sometimes. I also use the library a lot.

Usually buy them new unless the used book I'm looking at is in mint condition.
