I stopped reading Fifty Shades of Grey after the first 100 pages. I have read erotica before, but that was just too much for me.

I never finished The Bridges of Madison County, it bored me to tears and just recently could not continue with Charlotte Gray. It was too slow and dull. I hate not finishing books to the end, but these two had to go!

I couldn't get beyond first couple of chapters of Bridges of Madison County, still don't really know what it was about.

Theres been a few, but one that comes to mind is Ben-Hur. Boring, boring, boring.

"Memorias de mis Putas Tristes" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I couldn't finish it because I was trying to read it in spanish, and although I'm a native spanish speaker, my english has overcome my native tongue and my spanish has become very limited, so I found myself looking up words every other sentence. I ended up getting too lazy to finish. What I read was very good though, and I plan to finish the book this summer.

Fifty Shades of Grey. It was just dreadful - the descriptions of erotica didn't bother me, it was the fact that the writing was awful. Very little plotline, and an incredible amount of repitition and cliches. I think the phrase "my inner goddess" was used about twenty times in the hundred or so pages I got through. Shouldn't have got all the hype it did!

Riding the Iron Rooster by Paul Theroux. I found this ponderous to read, and his condenscending attitude towards the people he meets to be quite boorish. I was confused by this, because I liked other books by him.

The Hobbit unfortunately. Just couldn't really get into it, it went on so long.

Most books by Stephen King I find I have the same problem

I had to read that one for my son's classroom book club meeting. Definitely not my favorite!

I read The Phantom Tollbooth, It wasnt one of my favorites either.

I started to read one a couple days ago, The Ship of Ishtar, but after a few pages I couldnt get interested in it. I usually like A. Merritts books, but this one just didnt grab me.

There have been several books I can't finish. The latest one was 'Freakonomics' - the writer spent chapters making the same point......tedious as heck.
