Well .. If I knew that the day after I am not working then why not ... Stay reading all night :) To be truthful I have never done it yet but there is always the first time :)

I definitely sacrifice sleep to "just read one more chapter..." which turns into four more hours way more often then I should. As I read in a quote once "I decided staying up all night and finishing my book was more important than being mentally present today." Though only once have I stayed up reading straight through to sunrise!

Yes, without a doubt. There are many books out there that you just can't put down, not even for sleep.

Yesss.....When I get into a good book and it's already late at night I will either fall asleep while trying to stay awake to finish reading it or I will win the battle and when I look up it's past 4am and I only have 2 hours to sleep. But it is so worth it!!

This hasn't happened to me in a long time. Maybe I just haven't been reading the right books lately. But, when I was a teenager, there were many days I went to high school exhausted because I had read ALL night.

I know I have to finish a book! I used to do it even more as a kid while now I usually try to stop myself when it's getting too late, though I'm still up later than I should be sometimes. I hear you're not supposed to watch tv before bed because it makes it harder to sleep. Well I've never had that problem with TV but absolutely with a good book. It wakes me up and even when I do go to bed, I'll be wide awake for awhile just thinking about the book! Anyone else experience that?

I used to do that all the time. Unfortunately a busy job makes me love sleep. I might push the envelope a bit to finish off a book currently, but never get to read all night anymore.

I have been known to pull an all-nighter (usually unknowingly) if I'm immersed in a particularly good book; however, my college roommate always put me to shame. She was the queen of pulling an all-nighter to read a book for pleasure. What was interesting, was that she didn't consider herself a reader. She was an engineering major; I was an English major. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she only read what she absolutely wanted to read/love. On the other hand, I often had to read books, even if I wasn't particularly interested in them. That kind of wears down the novelty.

If I get into a good book, I could stay up for over 24 hours just reading. When the Harry Potter books come out, I stayed up all night to finish each one.

talking about the potter books... I still read them over and over again... everytime I pick one I just can't live properly until I finish it. but then that happens to me whenever I'm immersed in a new book...

I often find myself ending up staying awake till the early hours of the morning just because I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next in the story.

Always. If I start a book, and it is suspenseful, and keeps me guessing, I will read it until it is finished. I have had many book hangovers because of this!! Love it!!

I have definitely picked reading over sleeping several times in my life. When I was in the military and the Harry Potter books were out, a friend of mine would pop up into my sleeping area and tell me to go to sleep! Lol. Good times.
