Looking for a book I read a long time ago...

Around 10-15 years ago I happened to read a book... it was a hardcover, and of moderate length (couple hundred pages). The cover was mainly white, and it had one of those spherical fuse bombs on the cover. The bomb was black and lit, and it had an engraving: a heart with the two main character's initials carved in the middle of it.

The book was about a teenage kid and his dealings with a dysfunctional family and his girlfriend, and it had some sexual content in it. Other than that, I don't remember anything else about. I know it's a long shot but I was hoping someone could identify the book from the description of the cover and the general synopsis of the book.
