I preferred reading when it comes to Fantasy, but for SF I just crave to see the movie renditions

I love reading. And I love watching Sci-fi...but lean more towards OLD SCI-FI, like the original Star Trek.

As a matter of fact, I got ahold of some Star Trek books so I got them and read them.

And OH BOY!

I loved reading the books MORE than watching Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner!

There is definitely a place for both media; some action scenes lend themselves very well to the silver screen but others (ironically) are too complicated to be able to be done justice properly.

I love to read the book first and then watch it. That goes with any Genre. Maybe it's so I can complain through the whole movie about the parts that were nothing like the book.

I prefer both watching and reading. While reading stimulates the mind, I'd also love to watch it.

I enjoy both! When I read, my imagination is unhinged and roams free. When I watch, I get a view of another person's imaginative opinion (definitely the director's, and maybe even the author's at times!). I can't choose one over the other!

For sci-fi I prefer watching TV series and movies. I enjoy reading more mysteries and thrillers.

Some things I can visualize better when I can see it versus read it. Sci-fi is one of those genres that I much prefer in a movie or tv show, rather than reading it.

Both, but I loved the old shows that were very creative. Today everything revolves around technology and the special effects leave very little to imagination. Reading gives you the power to build a new world, while you're ''put in a box'' when watching a show.
