Maybe, but I think all of us have this kind of voice inside us. Might not be a literal voice or as dramatic as that, but we just have to listen.
You are right. Jesus always tries to get through to all of us. Some call it conscience ... That is how we can differentiate good from bad such as when you betray someone, you feel bad about it but you can't explain why.

I do agree. The author may have just been more open than most people which could explain his visions.
Yes. sometimes we see things that we can't explain. Oftentimes, most people do not care to explain what they have seen. I know of some people who classify dreams as JUST DREAMS. some say dreams are foolish and do not hold any special meaning. But I disagree with this notion. I believe the author was special in a way that he was able to discern the true meaning of his dreams.

If you really start to believe in something, you'll develop a mindset for it. I think positive thoughts do have power over our actions and direction of life.
Well, this is another perspective to this. Well, I believe everyone is special after all. All we have to do is listen to our inner voice pointing us in the right direction.

" ... His desire to live ...". Hmm. I like that phrase. It brings a pleasant smile to my lips. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I relate with your comment completely. We are all on a quest. If we fail, that quest will be passed on to someone else to complete. If we succeed, there is a reward awaiting us. I too believe that Jesus saved him. Thank you, KristyKhem, for sharing your thoughts.

sonya01 wrote: 03 Mar 2019, 03:33 I would agree with aolayide who says we are all given gifts in life, and should use them for the greater good. The author is special in that he has more ‘spiritual’ gifts than most. But I also believe that if something bad had happened to him to prevent him from speaking out, another would had taken over. The messenger is not important; the message is, and it’s then up to us as individuals to take out what we want and need from the lessons offered.
Thank you, Sonya01. You completely say what is in my mind. The messenger is not important. The quest is more important. If we refuse to complete our assignment either intentionally or unintentionally, the assignment would be given to another. Thus, if we have a message, we need to speak up.

Exactly!! And I think the author also emphasises that point in his own way. He gives many tools to use in order to allow ourselves to really let that energy flow within our own being.

For me, I think God helped him in his troubled times, but that doesn't mean he was the chosen one to teach his teachings to us. I think it was solely the author's decision to pursue his spiritual enlightenment and to share it to the world, a way to give back to God for His unfailing grace for him. Some people call it "calling", but God can only touch your lives, but the decision to answer to that calling is purely your decision. :tiphat:

I agree, but I think he was not only able to discern but also gave meaning or purpose for those dreams and visions he had. His belief and faith and his resolve could have helped him to see past those dreams and think outside the box, creating meanings that aligns with his whole belief system. :techie-studyingbrown:

Wow! Your comment is insightful. The ability to interpret a dream and relate it to practical events is a gift on its own, I agree. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

As all of us are God's children, we are all entitled to revelation for our own lives. For most of us this will come as quiet promotions rather than dreams. The key is learning to listen and follow those promptings. The more we listen and follow, the more inspiration we will be given.

Exactly. You are right angiejack456. I heard of some cases where people who have the gift of revelations or dreams. when they refused to heed the instructions, the inspiration and gift of dreams were taken from them. There might be truth in this scenario. Nonetheless, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Every one in this world was born for the special purpose to accomplish. Mostly of the people we are living like any body but not somebody. The author purpose was to deliver the some things that is bouncing on the body. From what I believe it's was his fate to do so and there is nothing than can control the words of God. When he makes the decision about your fate nothing would be impossible even though how hard difficult it will be but as long as its the fate that decided by the God nothing can go contrary the fate.
That's why the author was able to deliver the message
