I definitely agree. Learning new languages that quickly would be useful in a variety of fields.

Tracking skills I can do without (not much call for them where I live!), but I would like to have a gift for languages.

Although I would love to track and have the skills that Sarah possesses, I don't think I'll be going into the woods any time soon, so tracking would be kind of useless to me. However even though I've taken Spanish from high school to college, I still only unfortunately know the basics. It doesn't come easy and mastering languages quickly just appeals to me more.

I would love to be Sarah. She is quite the unexpected surprise, and she can blend in everywhere very easily.

Yes! And I feel like this is the most practical choice for today’s society, so it would be my first choice. If I were, hypothetically, to be stranded in the wilderness, I would probably choose something like tracking.

I understand you Olivia, but sometimes if you don't associate with your immediate environs, tracking might not be easy.

I think Sarah and her skills in the wilds are impressive but her holding onto her feminine side is truly impressive in the setting. It's easy sometimes to forget who we are surrounded by things different.

I wish I had Sarah's skills to find a plant to ward off ticks and chiggers. I know, in the book, the plant kept off leeches, but surely she could find one to keep me from getting bites, too.

I definitely would want Sarah’s tracking skills. It takes a really brilliant mind to be able to follow signs and traces that everyone else misses.

In the 21st century where technology is highly advanced and we're probably nearing the third industrial revolution, it is very essential to master languages for me. I wish I can have that skill and the skills to survive in the wilderness.

I think it would be amazing to be able to master languages the way that Johnny does. I also think he is really skilled at understanding people and connecting with them.

Johnny's mastery of languages also appeals to me. I harbour a wish to read certain authors in their original languages (Proust in particular), but I never seem to have the persistence to continue with learning a new lang.

Definitely this! There are so many languages I would like to learn... well, maybe not all of them, but I can think of at least 5. But I just don't have the capacity to learn them all. Being able to learn them quickly would definitely be a skill I would want to have.
