True, yes, still creepy
Especially when it turns out that Jo has similar feelings for Adam... yuck!
To be honest ifud not realise that she had feelings for him. I guess I missed that part
If memory serves right, it was when Adam told her about his origin.

It was pretty easy to miss... I think they say a quick sentence about it when Adam is seeing her memories.
Yes I think it was just after that.

Yeah and it would have been perfectly acceptable as they were the effects of the serum!!
The serum is the perfect incest scapegoat!
A perfect thing to ruin many appetites!
You got that right ha Definitely put me off mine!

Yes, this book was definitely with lot od good twists and thrilling. But these deliberate actions of Adam were just plain disgusting.
Agreed!
The author should work on these twists more as most of us had enough of Adam!
Maybe the author will "twist" him right out of the series (doubtful though ha)

Yes I could see lines of 4 stars in the reviews.
It's got a lot of good reviews on Amazon as well!
Yes, I understand the thrill aspect of the book though.
I suppose haha

Agreed. It was really sickening to read about it.
Right? Jo returning those feelings just took it too far...
Yeah it really felt like an erotica at that point.
Right? like... reading about the serum I begrudgingly admitted that at least there was an excuse (albeit a weak one) but when I read that I was like "ok you just get right out of town!"

I was thinking along the lines of " This is how villains are made"
I mean, I guess I will give the author some credit for thinking outside the box by trying to give Adam the quickest turn around from evil psychopath to an all-around good guy.
I will not though. I relish reading about character developments so such change without any significant character development is unacceptable.
I said "trying" :lol2: :lol2:

I agree! haha I very rarely put down a book even if I hate it :P
I am guilty of putting down some books which I find too monotonous with no grip.
yeah, I get that... honestly if I wasn't reviewing it for this website I probably would have stopped reading after Carly burned down the den.

It shouldn't have been dubbed YA in the first place. Even though I don't think it qualifies as erotica and certainly not porn (there are far more explicit books out there in almost every bookstore's romance section), having his resistance crumble and beginning an actual relationship with his mom would have taken it up (down?) several levels in tone. I agree that it would probably have led to his acting out in other areas/ways as well.
I agree! Honestly, I'm not quite sure WHERE to put this book... I just know it's not going into the YA genre. And you are right, it would have become a slippery slope very quickly had he crossed that line.
This book belongs to the genre "Bad for young adults"
And thus a new genre was born!

And I started reading this book because it was a YA and it sounded like an action-thriller. Never thought it would begin with such craziness.
:ditto: I was not ready!
One of the shocks I will remember for a while!
samsies... really gives a whole new meaning to "don't judge a book by its cover" ... or its synopsis!

Agreed, I can see what the author was trying to do, the execution just wasn't done well enough to justify such an extremely dark path Adam was on.
Yes, I am quite sure the author had different plans in the beginning of the book.
that would make a lot of sense.

Yes it was a major turn off.
Agreed! Personally, it probably wasn't worth sticking with it though...
Yeah the author should have started with a random encounter of an Iksha and a Descendant, not with this stuff.
oh yeah, that sounds like an interesting book! It sounds like a good prequel!

So perhaps not actual sexual in reality
Still, was so weird reading about it.
Especially in the context of a YA series.

I get what you are saying, but for me "the serum excuse" just didn't make it any less creepy.
Yes, I would have preferred any other excuse.
If you can't come up with a satisfying excuse for incest, don't put it in at all...
