Review of A Kind of Hush

The book sounds like some of those "story of my life" kind of things, and I can't claim to be a huge fan of them. I prefer mystery and fantasy, science fiction to take my mind off ordinary things and relax from troubles. This book won't allow me this, and therefore I prefer to pass it. Apologies and still congratulations on BOTD!

There are things beyond human control. This family faces difficulties within the family, but when they are slowly moving ahead, disaster strikes them. Who is the killer that pushed the family down the cliff into shallow waters when Gabriel came back after using the restroom? This suspenseful fiction stirred interest in me.

I enjoyed reading the review about this novel it was happy and sad at the same time what a tragedy that happened to his family.

I have some reservations about the unfolding of the plot, which I found difficult to rationalize, and it is what I don't like about the book because it gave me dissatisfaction. Connor didn’t conduct a thorough investigation; Willa was a major suspect, but he focused only on Victor Kurtz, even after telling them there were three people on the cliff. He started by saying everybody at the crime scene was a suspect. So his investigation was biased. Willa’s action showed she knew something about it, but she wasn’t thoroughly investigated. Directing the plot to where some obviously suspected characters are investigated well enough would justify the resolution made at the end.

- That's exactly why it's Intriguing and curious to find out. The review was exceptional. Thank you.

'A Kind of Hush' by JoDee Neathery is a suspense crime novel that not only leaves you spell-bound, but wanting more with each flip of the pages. I feel so sad for Matt, it will take a lot for him to really recover from such trauma of losing his family.

I love mystery and suspense but I don't like tragedy, especially when it has to do with the loss of a loved one. Though your review shows the book is well written, I have my doubts about whether I would want to read it.

I really believe that Gabriel would be a good inspiration to Matthew recovery. Summer died a very cruel death, but the minutes Matthew see Gabriel, he might be consoled to see Gabriel alive and tell himself to live his life for Gabriel and he will also know that if Summer was still alive, she will be happy with that decision.

There seems to be so much sadness around Matt and Summer. From heartbreak to the eventually death of Summer. I'm wondering how Matt will fare, considering he has suffered brain damage.

I'm not a fan of suspense thrillers because i get too anxious waiting to know the ending. The story sounds quite horrifying—how a simple outing led to Summer's death. I can't even imagine how someone could overcome that kind of trauma. However, I'm curious to know how the story manages to have a happy ending. I can't wait to dive in!

Although the book appeals to crime/mystery enthusiasts, some decisions related to plot development can hinder the reading experience. The characters seem engaging enough though. If you are not into stories with a high body count, stay clear.
