This seems to be a disastrous crime thriller story full of mystery. What happened to Summer and Matt? Who caused them to experience the ordeal? Did Matt ever recover to tell his side of the story? I will read the book to find out.

"A Kind of Hush" by JoDee Neathery is a gripping story about a family enjoying a summer outing at Zoar Valley Gorge when an unexpected tragedy shatters their lives. Only one parent survives, along with their teenage daughter and young son, who is found hiding in the woods. As the story unfolds, readers are left questioning—was this an unfortunate accident, or is there something more sinister at play?

With its mix of suspense, emotional depth, and mystery, this book keeps you hooked until the very end. It’s a great read for fans of literary fiction, mystery, and thrillers.

Thrilling review of "A Kind of Hush" by JoDee Neathery. Kind of disappointed by the detective, only one way to find out how the events unfolded. The reviewer weaved in detailed description of author's beautiful work, having sampled a few pages i agree with the reviewer it is indeed a page turner.

This is a book about a family going through some phycological problems due to grief of a little boy, it's clear the mother is struggling to handle it, the daughter is acting out from that and the brother is confused. Now they must figure out what happened that tragic day. This crime thriller quickly lured me in and captured my attention. I did find an error on the second page of the first chapter "Summer, lost in her on own thoughts, mindlessly poured herself a refill with one hand while twirling a strand of hair with the other"
I would recommend: "Summer, lost in her own thoughts,"
Besides that I think this is a great read and would rate 4 out of 5

Poor Matthew; imaging the pain he felt from losing not only his wife but many of his children too is impossible. I hope that Matthew's family gets the justice they deserve. Thanks for the review!

The book sounds interesting and heartwarming. The family had to go through so much, yet, and I'm really happy about that, there is a happy ending. I'm eager to figure out how the events unfold and who is the real murderer. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Thank you for your thought-provoking review of "A Kind of Hush" by JoDee Neathery.
The novel sounds challenging, bringing together crime, a family's tragedies, and the dynamics of a broken family trying to move forward. A character-driven novel.

Congrats on BOTD!

I love stories with unexpected plot twists. And this book sounds like one of them. As the review says, that it has family dynamics, relationships, love, loss, crime, investigation and so on, it's a full package in my opinion. I'm truly intrigued to read the book.
