Have any of you found a verse that has helped you during a crisis, or possibly found inspiration from the verses provided to use in your life?
Yes I encounter some bible verses that help get me through tough times. Like 1 Corinthians 10:13.

This verse comes in very handy when one needs encouragement in tough or scary situations.

I used to fear everything, but especially being alone at night. I knew I had to conquer that fear because I WAS alone every night since my spouse traveled! One night I was praying to ask God to give me something to help me with my fear and I turned my Bible to Psalm 91 and claimed it and have not been afraid since. That was over 30 years ago! I thought the stories were all great and the Bible verses fit so well with what was being conveyed in the book.
I love Psalm 91. I always recite it.

It was the best part of the book for me too. The verses were pretty specific and that had an unbelievable impact on me.

That's amazing! I seek comfort with psalm 91 as well. I love how this book dealt with the Bible verses.

This verse gives a fresh perspective. It changed the way I deal with life. Just understanding that we were meant to have power, love and self-control changes everything!

My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I got it tattooed on my arm after I was hospitalized for severe depression and subsequently lost my job after 15 years. It's a great reminder.

I was touched by every verse that were used by the author at each point. I also liked that he had included prayers at the end of each section.

Twylla wrote: 06 May 2020, 12:35 I have always appreciated that Jesus didn't waste time praying elaborate prayers. He saw the need and solved the problem. An example is when he prayed for Lazarus to come out of the grave. He said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me." When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out." The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth.

It comforts me to know that I can talk to God the way I would talk to a friend and he will meet me where I am.
Same, I don't enjoy long and lengthy and wordy prayers. You don't have to make yourself seem better than you are. God knows who you are, you can talk to him just as you are.
That's what I love, I could be doing some work and if I need to help to push through, all I have to say is "Lord, please give me the strength to do this." I don't feel the need to go on and on, I can just freely talk to Him.

Amen! Philippians 4 has such wealth to it. I love Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (ESV). When I reflect on these verses, it always fills me with such joy that we have such a loving and kind God who is willing and wanting to hear everything that is on our hearts and on our minds. There's definitely no one else in my life who would want to know EVERYTHING, that's for sure! Hahah.
Exactly! It reminds me that there's no point in me stressing and worrying about the problems in my life because He has an amazing plan for my life. I just need to trust in him and his plan for my life. :)

Sometimes it really feels like there lots of arrows...
This is very beautiful and oh so powerful.
