I read this book when I was 15, and it has been my favorite read since. Harper Lee beautifully conveys the innocence and youth in the children, commenting hugely on the oppression of African American community. She carefully describes what prejudice against black individuals is like in the South of the USA. Commenting on the law and what is right, she creates my favorite character, Atticus, to be one of the most balanced and wise characters who luckily had enough power to influence more people into this mindset. The book tragically ends in a sad way, however, I concluded most characters spiritually benefited from Tom's death as they realized what events caused it, and how tragic it was affecting many people.

I was completely mesmerized when I started reading this book. I think that this single book is better than the whole Harry Potter trilogy, although I was a bit obsessed with that one too. Showing the social reality of that period, morals, and doubts through a little kid's eyes got me trapped. I read it in one go. Nowadays, I still recommend it to all of my students who want to have a better understanding of this period of society.

This book is amazing - it is worth it to read the whole thing.

It is indeed! It was fascinating to see how such complex issues might look from the perspective of a young child. Also, I liked that, while it does mention the harm that religious people have done, it doesn't blame religion for it, and religion's positive effects are also shown - it's not so easy finding that in newer books (except for Christian ones).

Also, it stuck to me how sometimes, people are discriminated for belinging to a group that's not even recognizable if one doesn't know someone belongs to it.

I cherished To Kill a Mockingbird. It has a compelling premise and well-developed characters, in my opinion, making it a fantastic story. Additionally, I think it gives us a glimpse of what it was like to be separated into two racial groups—Blacks and Whites.But there are also depressing moments.

However, they aren't there because the author wanted to make the situations as horrible as possible; on the contrary, they are there because the auhtor felt a need to speak out about them.

I considered most of the books that I read for high School uninteresting but for this one, I enjoy reading it. it even turned out to be one of my favorite books.
