“The Trønders - A Quirky Guide to Trondheim, Trønderland, and Its People” by Tania Winther is a fun guide that exposes the readers to Trondheim and its people. Winther uses this book to show us what makes this place so special.

Trondheim is the largest city in Trøndelag, a region in central Norway. Trondheim has a diverse history and strong community spirit. It has a mixture of tradition and modernity. This book is not only about Trondheim but also its inhabitants. Trønders are unique with a friendly nature, dry humor, and a deep love for nature and tradition. In this book, we explore Trondheim and learn about its language, history, and tradition. More importantly, we learn about its locals and how to blend in.

This book is a wonderful guide that covers every aspect of Trondheim. I found this book very informative. I have heard of Trondheim, but I did not know much about it. This book opened my eyes to the vast richness of Trondheim and its locals. I learnt about their culture, tradition, food, weather, and the quirky behavior of Trønders. I also learnt a bit of their language. This book made me interested in visiting Trondheim, and I know that with what I have learnt, I will definitely blend in.

Winther has a unique and quirky writing style, which makes the book more enjoyable and humorous. While reading, I would pause to chuckle at the idiosyncrasies of Trønders. I love that Winther added common phrases used by Trønders so that foreigners can learn them. I love the quotes and warm pictures that are seen throughout the book. The pictures show cartoon figures and parts of Trønders’ life. These pictures add visual appeal to the book.

This book has nothing to dislike. I found a few errors while reading, but that is not enough to detract a star. For the reasons stated above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you ever wish to visit Trondheim, you definitely have to read this book.
