I've just joined this site. Are there many books that are only exclusively an e-read? I don't want to miss out on books because I don't have an e-reader!

Many books by independently published authors may be e-book only, but some do have a paperback option. And of course, most traditionally published books have both paper and e-book formats. I think it will be a long time before paper books disappear. :)

I have completely converted to the Nook Tablet. I only kept physical books if they were one of my favorites. Of course I still have my favorite albums and 8 tracks as well!

Although I Love to read on my Kindle, I'm finding that I haven't been using it as much as I want to. My library never seems to have the books I want available for the Kindle. I hate paying for a book unless I have to (BOTM or challenge), so I'm finding that I'm reading more books borrowed from the library. I love the library and borrowing books - it's just that books on the Kindle are so much easier to transport.

I got my Kindle for Christmas last year. I get a lot of free books for it. I still have a huge LIBRARY so I think I will still buy my fav authors books to put on the shelf. For the person who said that they use the library, have you tried contacting them about ebooks? My library has ebooks. You actually get them for two weeks and then they disappear. They have a website where you can "borrow" ebooks. It is worth checking out. :)

I have been traveling for over 5 months n my iPod touch is more convenient to read, but I hate how expensive the books are and that you can't lend or borrow books from people. If I paid for the book, I should be allowed to let someone else use it. I spend too much money on books in the iBook app.

I probably am about half and half between eBook and print books. I love the print books and buy a lot of them. Especially How to Do It and other non-fiction books. Their problem is that they take op a lot of space. The advantage is that they are tangible and easy to loan and will always be there.

I read eBooks on my Kindle, and on my computers. I had an iPad but turned it back in to the company when I retired. Have never tried a Nook. It's great that Amazon has written free Kindle apps for almost any device. It's great that Amazon stores all the books you buy from them so you can download them to any device and you can't lose them.

I love books in any form!

Is really e-ink more eye-friendly than a tablet pc screen? Or a laptop screen? I find my Acer Iconia A200 very useful when I want to read in bed, otherwise I don't mind reading on laptop.

You can download a free Adobe Digital Editions e-reader onto computer, laptop, iPad, etc.
You can download and read free e-books from a public lending library.

I LOVE my Nook. I have about 1500 books on my Nook. I love that I can "instantly" check out books from the library. When my favorite authors release a new book, I don't have to leave work to stand in line for my copy. I can download it in under 1 minute and start reading! I prefer the Nook to the Kindle because it uses the standard epub format. There are free epubs offered through Barnes and Nobles, as well as a Free Friday book every Friday. You can get to my favorite site "Cheap e-reads" through Facebook. They post on my facebook links to free books and discounted books. I like this feature because I've discovered some great authors I would have never known about this way. I take my Nook everywhere with me. I have the Nook Tablet, but my daughter has the Nook Simple Touch. If you are only using it for reading, I'd suggest the Nook Simple Touch because it's lightweight, small enough to slip into a purse and take everywhere, and the battery life is a lot longer.

I have used my iPad a bit for reading, but I still love the feel of a book in my hands. I also buy a lot of used books which are less expensive than ebooks.

I have an iPad, so I have all my books in one little convenient place. And I can take them anywhere. I do still have my real books, but it is so simple to download a book and start reading it right away that lately I've only purchased ebooks.

I am on the fence. I would like to switch fully but some older favorites of mine are extremely hard to find in hard copy, and impossible in an e-book. I love love LOVE the portability of my ipad MIni. About the same size as an book, I have a cover so it has that book feel and it is so much more convenient if I'm reading more than one book at once. Its also great because if I'm finishing one book on my iPad in a series, I don't have to carry around extra baggage. Further more, with having small children, I can quickly switch back and forth between entertainment for me and for them when on long trips and what not. They have just as many books and games on my iPad as I do!

This really is a huge plus to e-books. Most of what I'm reading now are electronic books, though I occasionally still read paper copies. I read a lot on the treadmill, and my iPad is so much easier to prop up than a book. It's also easier to read while I'm eating. I can free up both hands for eating and not worry about the pages of the book flopping closed. Little things, I know, but they do make a difference.

But still, if it's a book by one of my favorite authors, I usually get a paper copy.
