Matt Wallace who writes the Sin du Jour series. They are so over the top but executed in such a witty way. Hilarious, I definitely recommend if you need a laugh. The series is about a restaurant kitchen crew who caters events for supernatural entities and ends up in all kinds of bizarre situations.

I usually read suspense, mystery, espionage stories. If I want to read for pleasure, I would pick up Nicholas Sparks' books because they are not so heavy on crime and thrilling scenarios. Sparks' specialty is on romance and love and so it would be a change of genre for me.
