I agree with you that there's a need for consistency in characterisation, especially for children's books. I shall check this book out.

It sounds like *Sock Sloth and the Lunar Blades* offers a thrilling and suspenseful adventure for young readers. I appreciated how the reviewer highlighted Wacky Bottomsmirk's shrewdness and the complexity of his character, which kept the tension high throughout the story. The dynamic between Sock Sloth, Rick, and their partners seems to create a fun, yet valuable lesson for children about teamwork and perseverance. The reviewer’s observation about the importance of foresight and discipline also suggests that this book goes beyond just action, offering meaningful life lessons to its readers. The mention of Rick’s humorous relationship with food adds a lighthearted touch that would likely appeal to the intended age group. However, the inconsistency in spelling for “Wacky”/“Whacky” could indeed be a bit confusing for young readers, as the reviewer pointed out. Overall, it seems like a well-balanced mix of action, suspense, and valuable lessons, making it a great read for children and parents alike!
