Desperate for a muse

Post by Maya Maghidman »

I’m desperate for inspiration
a muse
Someone Something that’ll give me the will to write
I’m writing this with no words
My heart is loud
My mouth is silent
The chaos in my chest doesn’t stop
pressuring
hurting
confusing
My feelings have lost all logic a long time ago
I have no more statements to say or shout
Merely silence.
A roaming silence
of the kind that makes the world shake
tremble
wonder to itself what the hell happened
Where are we?
I was promised heaven and we’re in hell.
The fire is burning all of the beautiful trees in the forest, the trees in which I used to watch the sun travel through
Jump from one branch to another, searching for a hiding place,
and at the end of each day burying itself deep down the ocean.
I used to wonder why it hides there instead of staying between the trees and lighting up the world
Now I understand.
The sun was hiding from the disasters that were kept hidden, waiting for the right moment to show up and ruin everything.
Destroy.
Ignite.
The chaos doesn’t stop
Screams
Pain, so much pain
And we survive.
Despite the searing tragedies, we survive.
Lately I’ve been wondering how the world was created from nothing
and turned into a world full of merciless monsters.
Only when I remember I’m still here,
I have a flicker of hope.
A tiny hope that maybe there are other people just like me out there
Then, I remember my sister
and my mom
and my dad
and the air comes back to my lungs
I can finally breathe knowing that there is hope for a better world
a purer world
There is hope and I’m going to hold on to it.

It was such a powerful poem. I hope you keep writing. It's like jumping into the sea and water floods your lungs. Only you realize your breathing not drowning. Like fish finally swimming in water.
