if I'm trying to write out a certain tone/mood in my story, listening to a song that expresses that really helps, though admittedly sometimes it can be a distraction. ultimately depends on the song, depends on my mood, depends on what I'm doing... usually music gets me in the groove, then i turn it off to focus.

Music has no doubt, the power to influence emotions and moods. Listening to uplifting or soothing music can help improve your mood and reduce stress. Certain types of music, such as instrumental or ambient music, can enhance focus and concentration. I personally like old and classic music, rather than upbeats and metal. Many people find that playing background music while working or studying helps them stay on track and be more productive. It is so interesting that it can be a powerful tool for emotional expression, allowing you to process and understand your feelings, whether they're joyful or sad.
Unlikely to my taste, Upbeat and energetic still has its advantages. It can provide motivation during workouts or physical activities. The rhythm and tempo of music can sync with your movements and help you maintain your energy levels!

Instrumental music can be quite helpful in various ways. Many studies have shown that listening to instrumental music can positively affect mood, concentration, and relaxation. Here are a few ways in which instrumental music can be beneficial:

Focus and Productivity: Instrumental music, especially genres like classical or ambient, can create a calming and focused atmosphere. This can enhance concentration and productivity, making it a popular choice for studying, working, or engaging in tasks that require attention to detail.

Stress Reduction: The soothing melodies and absence of lyrics in instrumental music can help reduce stress and anxiety. It provides a mental escape and can help create a more peaceful environment, aiding relaxation and stress management.

Enhanced Creativity: Instrumental music can stimulate creativity by engaging the brain without the distraction of lyrics. This can be particularly useful for creative activities like writing, drawing, or brainstorming.

I agree with others that have said that music helps them while they're working. I like having something in the background to keep my spirits up, especially if I'm doing work for school or something similar, lol. I love working and listening to music, and I love writing and listening to music, but I have never been able to read and listen to music unless it's instrumental or lo-fi. The words get jumbled around in my head, like when you're thinking of something different while you're talking and you accidentally say what you're thinking about rather than the subject of what you're actually talking about. Anyone else experience that, or is that just me?

I also find that when I write, the emotion of the music tends to absorb into my writing. It's a really handy tool for when you're not sure where you want a scene to go, and the luck of the Spotify or Youtube algorithm curating music for you kind of leads the way. It's lead to some interesting outcomes to scenes that I didn't quite know where I wanted them to end up.

Music helps block out distracting noises around me, creating a more immersed environment for deep concentration. The right instrumental music acts like blinders, preventing me from being distracted.

Listening to music puts me in a positive mood which is more conducive to creative problem-solving. I tend to come up with better solutions when I'm in an upbeat, inspired state of mind.

Certain music energizes and motivates me. Uptempo, lively music often gives me a boost of motivation to tackle tasks with extra enthusiasm. This drive helps me work more efficiently.

Music engages parts of my brain not used when working in silence. Tapping my foot or nodding my head to the beat involves motor areas of my brain in a way that keeps me more alert and focused.

The rhythm of music helps regulate my workload pace. I can match the speed of repetitive tasks to the tempo of songs. This synchronization helps me maintain my concentration.
