I would go with Rupi Kaur. She's a feminist poet and writer, and she usually makes short modern poet. But the thing about her that made me fell in love with her works is that she talks about real issues and although her poems are pretty short, they still hold deep meanings and stories inside it.

Rupi Kaur is most definitely my favourite poet at the moment. I saw some of her poems on Tumblr and decided to buy her book: Milk and Honey. She's a young, feminist writer and her words almost reduced me to tears because they were so relevant to me at the time. I carried her book around with me for weeks and still find myself re-reading particular favourites - whether its on the tube into work, with a coffee at university, or when I want some 'down time' just before bed!

Hm, I find it hard to pinpoint one, but I have always liked Emily Dickinson. Her poems have a pinch of mystery and darkness, and I usually enjoy that. Anywho, one of the newer ones that I have adopted a liking to is Lisa M Gott. I recently did a review about her collection titled, Comtemplations. It's worth giving a shot
