I thought I'd share some of my poems. Happy Reading! :)

The Porcelain Goddess

At your altar many have knelt,

with the pagan awe of heathen infidels,

your image gleams, others pale,

crowned royal; reign, ichor below thy veil.

In devoted worshipped to your diadem,

a silver lever receives said sacrament,

whilst constrained clergy mark your mien,

and righteous attendees tithe their ten percent.

With holy water you baptize,

first demanding all due sacrifice,

privy to your throne, no man can lie,

you then make holy, you purify.

Hence your visage, porcelain and fair,

compels pilgrimage from men everywhere,

elicits tributes, hymns, and prayers,

no other flock’s could equal theirs.

Yes, your flock, goddess, is sacred, though diverse,

your membership comes from every church,

if some men claim no other deity, alas, from birth,

obeisance is eventually, humbly offered to your worth.

Though stained be your image by devilish attacks,

truly, e’en until your pious visage cracks,

faithful servants devoutly will come back,

in reverence to your providential tract.

Your powers truly are divine,

wondrous, porcelain goddess mine,

miracles are wrought in thy consign,

and should stigmata flaw your grand design.

Even said doubters can surely see,

the porcelain goddesses’ divinity,

once first communion has been received,

homage thereafter accorded most religiously.

If in special services, you, the porcelain goddess do attend,

allay your fears, it’s (now) writ, such idolatry’s no sin,

when we the goddess revere, plainly, we are but men.

Aww, Hades, my pedestal sink’s waxing green again. (Amen.)

beautifully written! You’ve created a unique commentary on devotion, idolatry, and the sacredness we sometimes assign to the mundane
