As for me personally I like Edgar Poe and Joseph Brodsky. But there are a lot of wonderful poets I like and I do not know what to name, because they are all original and awesome.

I have to submit Seamus Heaney ... his poem In Memoriam never fails to bring tears to my eyes, an awesome poet:

I'd say the most accomplished (and some of my favorite) poets are Shakespeare, Keats, Dante, and Poe. I also love John Donne, Andrew Marvell, Emily Dickinson, and e e cummings. Milton is also fantastically gifted, but I am not as fond of him as I am of the others.

Am I weird for liking modern poetry? I concede that a lot of it is esoteric and/or written by emotional teenagers on Tumblr, but some poets these days really get to me.

I love me some Richard Siken. The last section of "You Are Jeff" gives me so many feelings.

Also Timothy Donnelly. Not only is he a funny dude, but his poetry is so fresh.
