It also encourages me to keep reading and recommends me books that I might like. on top of that, I get to see what my friends are reading and become inspired by that also.
Yessss! I love GoodReads, it tracks everything super easily and has good recommendations

I like Goodreads but I am pretty new using it. I like that I can have my Goodreads books store on Bookshelves.

I love Goodreads for its recommendations and I think it's one of the only websites with a comprehensive database of almost all books I've looked for, indie/self-published included, complete with descriptions and author profiles with the rest of their books!

I really like goodreads, especially because it's easy to add books to my tbr. I don't really interact on the forums though, I like the obc forums better.

I use goodreads. On books I reviewed here I state see my official review and give the link to my review. I also interact with a few groups and even won a paperback book from a contest.

I am not sure about Goodreads. It is nice to see what other people think, but I am not a fan of what other people think of books when I search out books to read. I go with my own opinion and gut. And, obviously, what the cover looks like.

I prefer StoryGraph more, but I do have an account there so that I can import my books here every now and then. The user interface is a huge nay and as someone who isn't much of a social reader, it doesn't really do much for me.

Yay, this forum format is indeed better and I really don't use Goodreads for the forums.

I haven’t ever really used Goodreads although you can find some great discussion points on books. I think if you’re active there, you can definitely find a wealth of information.

I use goodreads to check against Amazon reviews. Aside from that I don't participate in anything else on the website.

Amazon bought Goodreads, so they are the same.

I did not know that! I was about to say good riddance to goodreads after reading your response, but I just compared some books from Amazon to goodreads and the book reviews are different. It looks like Amazon chose to keep the reviews separate. I was very close to thinking I was crazy for comparing two different websites with the same exact reviews.

Some of the reviews, not all, are the same, as some people post the same review on Goodreads and Amazon.

I am I member of goodreads but don't use it much. Their recommendations aren't really related to your rated books.

Goodreads is great for keeping track of my books. I used to keep a notebook with that information and it was really hard, as the list of books piled up, to keep it organized. The invention of Goodreads was incredibly helpful. There have been times when I’ve been active in discussions but I’m not very active on there these days.
