Any book referals?

Post by NecroCombine88 »

Hi I'm brand new to this site. I was looking for a place to have some good author and book discussion and I hope I found it. Some of my favorite books are...

H. G. Wells The War In The Air
H. G. Wells The Isle of Dr Moreau
H. G. Wells The War Of The Worlds
H. G. Wells The Invisible Man
H. G. Wells The Time Machine
Any J. R. R. Tolkien
The Resident Evil books by S. D. Perry
Lords of Chaos the history of black metal
The encyclopedia of heavy metal
The Serial Killer Files
Any H. P. Lovecraft
Zecharia Sitchin's The 12th Planet.
I am Legend by Richard Matheson
Fall of Cthulhu The Fugue
Tales from the Time Loop by David Icke.
The Grays from Whitley Strieber.

I'm interested in checking out Robert E Howard, Michael Moorcock, William Gibsom, Brian Lumley and August Derleth< John Wyndham, Frank Herbert, Robert A. Heinlein, Aleister Crowley, William Golding, Cornelius Ryan, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Robert A. Heinlein.

I'm especially interested in the Conan series but have no idea where to start. If by reading any of what I enjoy brings a certain author to mind please let me know. I'd like to get ahold of some cyber punk and dystopian stories but have no idea where to begin either.

I'm very interested in science fiction from the the 60s and 70s. My best friends dad had this book rack in the their basement with all theses old lovecraft and cthulhu mythos reprints and old science fiction and moorcock stories with very epic covers that looked straight out of comic books and some had crazy planets and alien beings on them and these authors I listed are just some I remeber he had. Out of the silent planet seemed intriging but I'm not a big C. S. Lewis fan.

I'm just wondering if any of you could recommend anything from these authors or tell me what to not bother with as I've never got ahold of any of their works before but I am looking to very soon.

Thanks alot for any help you provide.

You might like some of Vonnegut's books or maybe Ray Bradbury....?

Check out George Orwell's 1984 if you haven't already. And I'm pretty sure you'll like Memoirs of an Invisible Man by H.F. Saint.
