What is your favorite book/movie that centers around food?

Julie & Julia was halfway decent. I was fortunate enough to see the premier at a Tom Douglas event. The half of the film centering on Julia Childs was well done. The other half centering on a blogger making her recipes - not my cup of tea.

Not movies, but I love cooking shows. The Great British Bake Off and a Gordon Ramsay show on occasion are the main things I watch now. I used to love having old episodes of Iron Chef on in the background while doing homework when I was a highschooler.

Well I love the Chef cos it gets interested to cook. I feel so lazy to cook,but when reading it,I quickly jump on my feet straight down to kitchen to explore

Oh my goodness, how did I not know there were Hannah Swenson movies?! I’ve read the whole series and always end up making at least one of the recipes. I must go figure out how to stream these now you made my day, thank you!

I enjoyed watching Hundred Foot Journey, No Reservations, Julie and Julia and Ratatouille. I also enjoyed reading the book Sweet Bean Paste.

I have never read a book that centers on food (I am not counting Eat, Pray, Love). But I do love cooking shows, like Chopped, Just Desserts, and that type of competition.

I absolutely love The Hundred Foot Journey, and Ratatouille, but I think my all time favorite would actually be a children’s book called A Tangle of Knots - there’s more baking actually not so much cooking, but it’s about a world where everyone has some small power, (like the one boy is really good at spitting), and the main character can bake the perfect cake for anyone. It’s also full of the actual cake recipes she makes for the other characters, and the story is really sweet and includes themes of how baking can bring people together.

I read it years ago but still think of that book sometimes.

I have recently watched a movie called, 'The Menu.' The food is exotic and seems delicious. But the movie is a thriller and is scary. I liked it though. It was a chilling experience.
